On the occasion of International Universal Health Coverage’ Day, the Permanent Mission of Hungary, Brazil, France, Ghana, South Africa and Japan in cooperation with World Health Organization, hosted a panel discussion and reception to share best practices, engage in constructive dialogue and continue building momentum in the lead up to the 2019 high-level meeting at the UN. H.E. Ambassador Bogyay, Permanent Representative of Hungary presented Hungarian policies, best practices, and Hungary’s motivation to championing UHC and facilitating the HLM-UHC process.

H.E. Ambassador Bogyay, Permanent Representative of Hungary presented Hungarian policies, best practices, and Hungary’s motivation to championing UHC and facilitating the HLM-UHC process. She said Hungary, as a former co-chair of the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals, is fully committed to achieve the SDGs, especially SDG 3. The SDGs give an opportunity for governments and the international community to renew their commitment to improve health as a central component of development and of sustainability. The Hungarian Government allocated a strong support to achieve universal health coverage by 2030. It is of utmost importance that Member States should continue dialogue on universal health coverage, and keep fighting. Hungary will continue to play an active role and it is great to see that more and more States are ready to join this important fight.
