H.E Minister of State Katalin Novák participates at CSocD56

H.E. Ambassador Katalin Annamária Bogyay, Hungary’s Permanent Representative to the UN participated at the meeting of the Permanent Representatives of the Steering Committee of the Friends of Water with the President of the General Assembly on 29 January to discuss the preparations for the high-level World Water Day event of 22 March 2018, which is about to launch the “2018–2028 International Decade for Action – Water for Sustainable Development”.
V4 statement on the Future of Europe
Under the Hungarian V4 Presidency the V4 Prime Ministers held a summit in Budapest on 26 January 2018. The Visegrad Countries reiterate their common approach concerning the Future of Europe as expressed in their declarations before the Bratislava and Rome meetings of the Heads of State and Government as well as their support to the Bratislava roadmap and the Rome declaration. The Visegrad countries welcome the debate on the future of the EU as they believe that the EU is the best framework to face and tackle both internal and external challenges. The Prime Ministers also discussed the issue of mass migration including the process aiming at creating a Global Compact on Migration in the United Nations framework.
Addressing complex contemporary challenges to international peace and security at the Security Council
On December 20, 2017, Ambassador Katalin Annamária Bogyay, Permanent Representative of Hungary to the UN, addressed the Security Council at the Open Debate on addressing complex contemporary challenges to international peace and security. In her statement, Ambassador Bogyay highlighted the importance of addressing water related challenges, taking the reform forward, empowering women and putting further emphasis on prevention. Ambassador Bogyay reiterated Hungary’s firm commitment to the role of preventive diplomacy and mediation.
